Education is not just a tool it is like the water that nurtures a person’s overall personality; this water nurtures an individual’s thoughts and ideas to help them grow and become refined. Education is a Light that illuminates the dark corners of a person’s mind and heart. It has the power to liberate and foster fundamental and moral values in an individual. Certainly, that is why great people have been stressing upon educating all the people of the society. A society and nation can flourish only when their members are literate and informed. No one should remain deprived of the access to education, as it is a human right that but in our country, the scenario is quite disappointing. There is an enormous gap between the privileged and unprivileged. There are numerous of young children who are unprivileged and deprived of even basic needs and amenities. They are deprived of; food, education, shelter, clothes, and even basic health and hygiene provisions. According to a report by UNICEF and World Bank Group, 30% of impoverished children live in India. The report said that “South Asia has the second highest share at nearly 36% -with over 30% of extremely poor children in India alone.”
WHY?
Poverty is the cause of all these despair aftermaths of which, are ruinous. The innocent childhood of children is, severely damaged in all respects. Sustaining a livelihood in such poor conditions is the biggest challenge for the poor people; eventually, that has compelled them to indulge in unethical actions. Access to education is far-reaching in fact it is very insignificant for them. Rural, undeveloped and remote areas in India have very displeasing specifics about education. Illiteracy is a taboo for society; the more ignorance prevails in a community, the more backward it is counted. Illiteracy is the cause of almost all the social issues, the foremost problem it creates is poverty, and with the same, other troublesome issues are born. Today nearly every social issue our Indian society is facing is due to the lack of education; it is nothing else but ignorance. Crimes, social issues like female foeticide, moreover, rape, molestations, abuse, social rifts caused due to the lack of knowledge/education
GOAL
Matri Prerna Foundation aims to initiate educational programs, and campaigns to provide free education and essentials to the poor and deprived children. The focus is on spreading awareness among the illiterate families and people about the vital role of education in their lives. We seek to connect with like-minded people together with whom we can ignite the lamp of knowledge and bring the change in benighted lives of poor children.
